The way you start your day matters.
Take a moment to consider how you greet your body, mind, and soul as you welcome a new day. Do you have a gentle awakening, or does a jarring alarm shock your heart? If you already have a routine or are interested in starting one, here are some suggestions to help you begin. Did you know that Harvard Business Review found that 92% of highly productive people follow planned morning routines, explaining, “Being productive is not about doing more, but about doing things in an efficient manner.” source: https://hbr.org/2020/12/what-super-productive-people-do-differently
I'll add that it is about doing things that nurture your body first thing in the morning. Below are some suggestions for starting your day.
Morning Mantra: It can be a quote, an affirmation, a prayer, anything that will get you going, something that will set the tone for the rest of your day positively. I am currently using the mantra from Access Consciousness: "All of life comes to me with ease, joy, and glory." I repeat this ten times with slow breaths.
Meditation: A powerful way to start your day. Even five minutes of meditation can change your life. I have created Dhyana, a five-minute meditation program that you can try for 21 days. Research suggests just five minutes of meditation a day could significantly reduce stress and improve emotional coping, helping to promote general well-being as a result.
Journaling: Allow yourself to write first thing in the morning. Design your day by visualizing the best possible day, surpassing even what you may have envisioned on a typical day—a regular notebook works and pencil or colors. Get creative!
